Hi, I am Kat!

I have been paddling on and off for over 20 years — a journey shaped by deep passion, personal resilience, and a lifelong love of the ocean. While life has pulled me in many directions — raising two kids, working as a paramedic for 16 years, and caring for my dad through his battle with motor neurone disease — paddling has always remained a part of me.

My sporting background is broad and competitive. I’ve represented New South Wales in both surfing and netball, and competed in ski paddling, swimming, kayaking, and outrigger canoeing. I’m a multiple-time Australian Distance Champion in outrigger, and in 2017 I placed second in the world at Na Wahine O Ke Kai and 2nd world Outrigger Distance champs Tahiti for Australia. I’ve also won the Molokaʻi OC2 Relay and placed second in the solo division — two of the toughest and most iconic races in the sport.

These achievements haven’t come easy, and I’ve had to fight hard to keep my dream alive through the demands of work, motherhood, and grief. But every time I return to the ocean, I come back stronger, more grounded, and more determined.

Now, I’m ready for the next chapter. I’m committed to taking my training and performance to the next level. I know what it takes. I’ve done the work. And I’m more driven than ever.
